You Never Know...There Could Be Prizes!

Some groups have cheesy prizes for their contests. Not so the Winter warriors. Not knowing that we were doing the pace game last week (you never know what's going to come out of the magic workout hat until Monday night after the warm-up) I didn't have prizes available for last weeks Pace Game. So this week I awarded the prizes from last weeks workout. The first place winner, Mike Jenkins, had his choice of a portable BBQ grill, a set of SIX ceramic beer mugs or a package of Jack Daniels Meat Marinade sufficient to marinate 20 lbs of meat. Mike chose the BBQ grill. Second place was won by Diane Verner, who wasn't at track because she had just completed the San Antonio Marathon the day before (you know, with some people there's always an excuse), didn't get to pick. Ron Banning, who took third place opted for the Marinade. Hope it tastes good Ron. I've got lots more. This could be the Marathon Bar for this season.

Ron and Mike are shown here with their prizes from last week's Pace Game.

After the usual warmup:

Megan (Teddy's daughter), Teddy, Nigel (Teddy's wonderful dog), Mike, Nancy, Brigitte, Deana the FHM , Dave and Ron get ready to warmup.

The Warmup

The workout that came out of the magic workout hat was 2x400 with 3 min rest, 1x1600 (a mile) with 4 minutes rest and 2x400 with 3 minutes rest. The participants were encouraged to run the last two 400's 5-10 seconds faster than the first two 400's

Afterwards, Brigitte, myself, Ron and Nancy retired to Il Vicino for a lovely dinner.

Come and join us next Monday, November 24th, when we meet at our house, 14339 Camino del Rey NE, for some easy hill repeats followed by homemade pizza, soup and salad at our house.

The workout starts promptly at 6PM.

Here's a map and directions to our house:
