Placitas Run

This was the view of the Sandias that greeted us when we arrived at the parking lot to run the Placitas loop.

After the run a huge group of 19 people went to The Range in Bernalillo for breakfast.

My camera's batteries died. Many thanks to Rod for lending me his Blackberry to take the breakfast pictures.

I have a prize for the first person who can tell me 1) What this is? and 2) Who put it there? People sitting at our table aren't eligible for the prize.

Hint: Someone is picky about what's in their Green Chile Chicken Soup.

Academy Run 1-21-09

Look who showed up at the Academy last night!

Brad and Penny Howard were just finishing up their run just as we were getting ready to get started. It was nice to see them again.

This is most of the group that were at the Academy last night. Deana and Lana went out early and Joni and Julie went out a little after we did.

We had a casualty last night. Kim Fitzgerald was bowled over by Stella as Stella was being disciplined. Stella, by the way, is Rod's dog. She's the one on the right in the group picture above.

Kim does a great acting job here. Her knee, which she is icing here, as it turned out, was just fine.

Stella survived the incident too, apparently without a scratch. Rod's OK too after we assured him that Kim would live.

I didn't get a shot of the collision between Stella and Kim but I did get an interview with Stella right at the top of the Harper Hill.

Also a quick reminder, track on Monday, January 26th will be at SANDIA PREP. Sandia Prep is on the southeast corner of Osuna and Edith. Same time as usual 6:00PM. Plan on dinner at Scarpas on Academy after the workout.

Track 1-19-09

Lori holds the completely random workout that came out of the Magic Workout Hat last night.

The workout was 2 laps of Straights and Curves followed by 4x800 with 3 minutes rest. They got me talking between the 3rd and 4th 800 and distracted me enough to get almost an extra minutes rest. They're tricky, this bunch. I think it was Deana's idea.

Bonnie holds up the Brooks gloves she won in the random drawing by having number 5 which was the number printed on the completely random workout that came out of the Magic Workout Hat. The gloves come to us courtesy of Fleet Feet, our sponsors for this year's In Motion and Albuquerque Fit seasons.

One of our regulars was missing. Since Dana wasn't there last night I had to use this picture of her singing (and very well I might add) with her jazz ensemble on Saturday night.

She cleans up well, don't you think?

Afterward, a group of us went to Il Vicino for a nice dinner.

One of the advantages of going to dinner is filling up your Il Vicino frequent diner card like Deana did last night. Deana's entre next week is free.

I'm told that the Italian Wedding soup was delicious.
