By the Light of the Slivery Moon

Julie reads the completely random workout that came out of the Magic Workout Hat on Monday night at the Eldorado Track as a thin sliver of a waxing moon lazily lying on its side shone down from its perch in the sky just above a very bright Planet Venus.

I didn't get a picture but we watched the moon set sometime in the middle of Monday's workout.

The workout Julie is reading was 2x800 with 4 minutes recovery, 4x400 with 3 minutes recovery and 2 by 200 with 2 minutes recovery. We did our usual warmup and cool down before and after the workout and then a group headed off to Il Vicino for a lovely dinner.

You never know when there will be prizes but Monday night there were lots of prizes.

Brigitte got a Montrail hat (courtesy of Albuquerque Fit's sponsor Fleet Feet) for being the first one to arrive.

Dave Goy arm wrestled Kristy for the the Montrail t-shirt that was the prize for being the last to arrive before the official start time of 6PM. Notice how the t-shirt matches his Buffalo Sabres/Labatts Blue beer hat.

Before Julie drew the completely random workout out of the Magic Workout Hat each attendee picked a number from 1-10. There was a number "10" on the completely random workout that Julie drew and Teddy picked number 10. Teddy's prize was an 18 pack of Corona Light 7 oz bottles. Because alcoholic beverages aren't allowed on APS property, I wasn't able to get a picture of Teddy with her prize. I was told today that the prize came in very handy for New Years Eve.

The prizes continued:

Teddy, who is still at the tender young age of 29, got the prize for being the youngest person at this week's track workout. Teddy got a pair of Brooks gloves courtesy of our friends at Fleet Feet.

Somebody (that would be me) came up with the idea of giving a prize for the oldest person in attendance at the workout. Well, as it turns out, being the old geezer of the group, I got that prize. No more age group awards at track.

After the lovebirds (aren't they cute?) were able to tear themselves away from each other, we had a nice dinner at Il Vicino.

Next Monday we'll have another exciting, fun track workout at Eldorado High School at 6PM.

Come and join us.
