Break Out the Sunglasses

DSCN1094.JPG

It's almost time to put the sunglasses back in the running bag. Here's a picture of the western horizon taken from the parking lot at track just before the workout this week. It won't be long now.

We had the usual perfect conditions for a track workout on Monday. Not too cold, only a light breeze and clear skies.

The Winter Warriors track mascot, Nigel, dutifully holds his own leash as we run the warmup.

Kim Jeffries reads the completely random (no really, the workouts come out of the Magic Workout Hat and I have *no* idea what's in there) workout from the Magic Workout Hat.

Monday's workout turned out to be 12 x run 90 seconds walk/jog 90 seconds which I modified slightly partway through the workout to reduce the rest period to 1 minute. Nobody noticed and everyone did well.

PRIZES!

Steve Grossman got the "Last Male to Arrive Who Can Fit Into a Large Shirt" prize. The color will look good on him, don't you think?

Cindy had number 7 in the Magic Workout Hat lottery. That's the random number that was printed on the completely random workout that Kim pulled out of the Magic Workout Hat. Cindy won a pair of Brooks gloves that are not pictured because I left them in the car. Cindy got her gloves when we left and she liked them!

Afterwards, as usual, a group of us went to Il Vicino and had a lovely dinner.

Best of luck to Steve Grossman, Teddy Decker, Jane Farris, Ron Banning and anyone else I may be forgetting who are doing the Phoenix Rock and Roll marathon or the Houston marathon this weekend. We'll be looking for your times on the web site.
